Thought of a new thing
Continuing from whence I came; as previously documented, a friend’s daughter is having a baby so I thought I’d make her a baby-mobile with my cast ornaments, for which I then purchased some anodised aluminium wire. Next thing, making metal lace.
Epoxy little bit shit application
Still getting used to applying the glue, which, after exhaustive tests, I find regular epoxy is best
Then theres the problem of tool-marking when shaping the wire. This anodised wire is unforgiving bitch
No one has ever thought of making rings with wire before
But I still just love these things
First Christmas in London, in a completely empty house. Someone wasn’t happy with his Christmas apples
Told them this was ‘merry’.
Visited Rolly. He said everything is going to be ok
Made this Hot Patterns Jaipur blouse, not linking it because not recommending it. The pattern is faulty, things don’t line up & the design is all-over poorly drafted and I had made my own piping. Binning it.
Excessively pleased, however, with my new Carolyn PJ top. I wear it with navy blue viscose pinstripe piped cuff drawstring long pants and I am quite the thing, of an evening
More sewing. Click on image above to see: not taken of pleasing gathered skirt tier ratios; me having scanned & photographed ALL of the Maker’s Atelier book, kindly loaned to me by Donna; vintage YSL dress, love seeing the inside guts of couture garments!; a really lovely ruffle collection all in one gown
Speaks for himself
They’re thinking about it
Working on some aerial decoration for the sewing quarter
Words to thrill a sewist: scrap busting. More to come on this project
Nice to have the Carriageworks market open again, albeit sparsely populated and somewhat lethargised
Got paid for a thing. See you in February
